Day 4 - Going for Loops

Our day ended yesterday with some steady climbs into Cache Creek, so we knew there had to be some payback for all that hard work.  It arrived first thing this morning with a 1-2% downhill grade for the first 10-15km, getting our day off to a great start.  We were feeling so good about it that we decided to stop for breakfast after a pretty quick 30km, then, fully loaded with sausage, eggs, and hash browns, came one of the biggest and longest climbs of the day.........brilliant!  The view from the top was outstanding......that is Kamloops Lake in the background, and just for the record we don't dress like twins every day.  Sid is threatening to get some hot compression socks to complete his ensemble.

It was a very beautiful day with great scenery, sunny blue skies, minimal winds, and nice warm temps........we are wondering how long our weather luck can hold out, and hoping it will until we clear the mountains.  The riding in BC has been great so far........long steady climbs are the norm, and you can just get settled into a gear and pedal away until you reach the top......always some kind of payback on the other side with downhill runs like the one we had into, and through Kamloops this afternoon.  Initially we were on the new Kamloops Hwy.1 Bypass, but then realizing it was quickly turning into something resembling the 401, we decided to get off and cruised through town, downhill all the way.

Happened to see this on the way......nice to know there is some humour out in the middle of nowhere, but don't know if I would ever stop at this place for the night!

I think we are heading into town for a bite to eat tonight.  Can't believe how much Kamloops has grown since my last time here.  Hopefully a nice plate of pasta awaits us..........signing off until tomorrow..........Kamloops - Salmon Arm........thanks for all your messages of support...........Hugh
