Day 5 - An Armful

Our weather luck continued again today with excellent riding conditions, great temperature, and some cloud cover keeping the direct sun off our backs, and for the third morning in a row we were treated to a relatively flat opening 20km.  Nice way to start the day.  We heard from a gas station attendant that the hills began just after Chase, BC, and that was the truth, but nothing as severe as what we have climbed already on the trip.  The dreaded Jade Mountain didn't turn out to be a killer climb, so all in all, it was a really nice riding day, with only a few very manageable hills, and some beautiful scenery courtesy of the Shuswap Lakes and surrounding mountains.

Planning another nice BBQ tonight at camp after a night on the town last night in Kamloops ........"Peters", great Italian food, and were served by the owner, Peter himself, a Ukranian!  Whatever, he makes good pasta.  Still made it back to our home on wheels and were in the sack by 10.  We have a great system going with Jon who is driving the camper with friend Steve.  After he passes us in the morning, he stops up ahead and we can dump or add clothing, get more fluids/food/etc..

Tomorrow should be another big one with Revelstoke in our sights, and some serious elevation to cover on the way.  Once there, we can look forward to our first DAY OFF, but have been talking about a short Monday morning ride to knock some km's off the ride to Golden on Tuesday......might end up at Canyon Hot Springs, 30km outside Revelstoke on Monday afternoon and have a little snooze by the hot pool.  All is good here, so hope all is well wherever you are.......will write again tomorrow if I am still breathing..........all the best.....Hugh
